Amelia Montes, 60, born December 2, 1960 in Chicago, IL passed away November 18, 2021 with her Husband and children by her side. She was born to the late Elisa P. Pedroza and Eleuterio Vargas in Chicago, IL.

She married Louis J. Montes on September 1, 1985, and they lived together in Chicago, IL for thirty eight years raising their four children.

Amelia is survived by her loving Husband, Louis J. Montes and their four loving children Louis J. Montes III (Ashley Montes), Rachel Magdalena Montes (Michael Wojtanowski), Michael Eleuterio Montes (Alejandra Arias), and Sara Maria Montes (Liam Kennedy). Amelia is survived by her two grand children, son and daughter of Louis & Ashley Montes, Broden & Gemma.

Amelia is survived by her brother, Jesus Rubio and predeceased by her sisters and brother, Felicitas Ulloa, Connie Peterson, Esther Alvarez, Margarita Gonzalez, Jesse Vargas, and Elisa Ortiz.

Amelia is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.

Amelia was a devoted servant of God and to her Catholic faith, a fantastic cook, a nurturing gardener, and a two time breast cancer survivor.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the Wolniak Funeral Home. The Mass will take place on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church. The burial will follow the mass and will take place at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery.
