David Maldonado passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on November 20th, 2025. He was born on February 20th, 1957 in Chicago, IL.

David grew up in the Back of the Yards neighborhood and graduated from Gage Park High School. From an early age, he was passionate about cars and music. David built a career as an acclaimed expert in the electronic, technical, and automotive industries and was devoted to his work. He was a car show enthusiast, winning countless prizes for his custom vehicles. David shared his extensive knowledge of Motown classics, salsa, merengue, jazz, Chicago house and freestyle as co-owner of Latin Mix Connection in West Lawn.

David married Cynthia, the love of his life, on December 31st, 1996. The couple loved to go bowling and fishing together and hosted many family holiday celebrations at their home.

What David enjoyed most was spending time with his family. He was the proud father of six children, and his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews brought him great joy. He was everyone's Mr. Fix It, always willing at a moment's notice to help with an automotive or home repair.

David is survived by his wife Cynthia; brother Jose (Tony); sister Margie (Magali); daughters Janette, Wanda, Candida, and Alexis; sons David and David (Junior); many grandchildren; one great grandchild; and an extended family that includes many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

David is preceded in death by his mother Candida; his father Jose; and his older brother Alfredo.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23rd from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Wolniak Funeral Home, 5700 S. Pulaski Rd, Chicago, IL 60629. Funeral will be Monday, November 24th at 10 a.m. at Wolniak Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Alsip IL.
