Obituary

Delfino Diaz, age 79, late of Humboldt Park and West Elsdon, passed away March 23, 2024.  Beloved husband of Carmen Diaz for 52 years. Loving father of Raul (Rosa) Diaz and Delfino (Lucy) Diaz, and stepfather to Ana (Edwin) Reyes and Luz (Eddie) Letamendi. Cherished grandfather of Brianna, Raul Jr., Lilianna, Alana, Alexa, Stephanie, Ralph, and Eduardo; and great grandfather of Sinaiya. Beloved son of the late Delfino Diaz and Josefina Aguilar de Diaz. Dearest brother of Carmen (late Crescencio) Diaz, Miguel (Teresa) Diaz, Rafael (Hilda) Diaz, Refugio Diaz de Pantojas, Maria Esther (Juan) Baltazar; preceded in death by his brother Manuel Diaz, sister Margarita (Alfredo) Barajas and brother Francisco (Maria) Diaz. Delfino is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. He was a God loving man, loved Vicente Fernandez, Las Chivas, and his hometown, which he visited every year, La Manzanilla de la Paz. He enjoyed spending time with family and keeping in touch with family and friends through events, visits, and phone calls.

Visitation Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 3-8 pm at Wolniak Funeral Home, 5700 S. Pulaski, Chicago, IL 60629.  A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 5 pm in lieu of a church mass.

Mass and Christian Burial will be held at a later date in Mexico in his family cemetery.

Delfino Díaz, de 79 años, de Humboldt Park y West Elsdon, falleció el 23 de marzo de 2024. Amado esposo de Carmen Díaz, casado por 52 años. Amado padre de Raúl (Rosa) Díaz y Delfino (Lucy) Díaz, y padrastro de Ana (Edwin) Reyes y Luz (Eddie) Letamendi. Querido abuelo de Brianna, Raul Jr., Lilianna, Alana, Alexa, Stephanie, Ralph y Eduardo; y bisabuelo de Sinaiya. Querido hijo de Delfino Diaz(†) y Josefina Aguilar de Diaz(†), hermano de Carmen (Crescencio (†)) Díaz, Miguel (Teresa) Díaz, Rafael (Hilda) Díaz, Refugio Díaz de Pantojas, María Esther (Juan) Baltazar; precedido en la muerte por su hermano Manuel Díaz(†), su hermana Margarita (Alfredo) Barajas(†) y su hermano Francisco (María) Díaz(†). A Delfino también le sobreviven muchas sobrinas, sobrinos, nietas, nietos, primos y amigos amorosos.

Era un hombre que amaba a Dios, amaba a Vicente Fernández, Las Chivas y su pueblo natal, que visitaba todos los años, La Manzanilla de la Paz. Él disfrutó pasar tiempo con su familia y mantenerse en contacto con la familia y amigos a través de eventos, visitas y llamadas por teléfono.

Velorio jueves 28 de marzo de 2024 de 3 a 8 p. m. en la Funeraria Wolniak, 5700 S. Pulaski, Chicago, IL 60629. Va a haber un servicio de oración en la funeraria a las 5 p.m.

Seguido por una misa y un entierro Cristiano en México en el cementerio de su familia.
