IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dolly Del
Fierro
July 6, 1955 – November 17, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dolly Verceles Del Fierro, age 70, who passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025.
Born in Quezon City, Philippines, to Liberata Rualo and Timoteo Verceles, Dolly was the youngest of eight siblings: Angeline, Dennis, Gillian, Linda, Priscilla, Cornelius, and Brigida. She immigrated to the United States with her family, making Chicago her home.
Dolly was wife to Noel Del Fierro and a loving mother to her three children: Dale (with wife Richelle), Danielle (with husband Daniel), and Dan (with wife Ida). She was a proud grandmother to Desirae and Reimiel.
She pursued her education at Mary Chiles College in the Philippines and Truman College in Chicago. Her career was dedicated to caring for others, working as a mental health counselor at St. Bernard Hospital and Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital, and later as a caregiver for the elderly and disabled. She was also known for her entrepreneurial spirit—selling party trays of Filipino food, especially her famous lumpiang sariwa (fresh spring rolls), and working as a driving instructor, helping many earn their driver's licenses in Chicago.
Dolly found joy in cooking and experimenting with new recipes, always eager to recreate dishes she enjoyed. Dolly loved shopping, not just for herself, but to find thoughtful gifts for her loved ones. She cherished her trips to the Philippines, reuniting with family and reconnecting with former classmates.
A one-day visitation to honor and remember Dolly will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wolniak Funeral Home, 5700 S Pulaski Rd, Chicago, IL 60629. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate her life.
In accordance with her wishes, Dolly will be cremated, and at a later date, her remains will be laid to rest at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum in Niles, Illinois, alongside her beloved mother, Liberata, and sister, Brigida.
