Donald was a lifetime member of the American Legion Clearing Post #600 and a lifetime poppy salesperson. He was an assistant Boy Scout Leader, Campfire Leader, Calvary Lutheran Choir and Church Council Member. Retired 34 year union sheet metal worker.

Visitation Friday 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wolniak Funeral Home, 5700 S. Pulaski Rd., Lying in state Saturday at 9:00 am until time of service 10:00 am at Calvary Lutheran Church, (6149 S. Kenneth, Chicago,IL).  Interment Chapel Hills Garden South Cemetery.
