Dorothy Nell Burks, age 74, born in Conehatta, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025. A devoted Mother, beloved Sister, cherished Grandmother, and faithful woman of God, Dorothy's life was a testament to love, kindness, strength and most importantly, family.

She was the proud Mother of Juan and Elise Burks, sister to Charles, Geneva, and Glenn, loving Grandmother to Jeremy, Brandi, Kandyce, Ariana, Anaiya, Justin, Jayden, Sara and nurturing Great Grandmother to Asa, Mahari and Koa. She poured her heart and soul into her family, each of them carrying her joyous spirit, unwavering values, vibrant emotions, humorous nature and boundless warmth with them every single day.

Dorothy was the heart of her family, a magnetic guiding light whose wisdom, radiant smile, and encouraging words left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Rooted in her faith in God, she lived with a holy spirit like no other, grace, generosity, and a ferocious strength.

A visitation and celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd, from 9:00 AM until time of chapel service at 11:00 AM.

Interment Oakridge Cemetery.

Though she may no longer walk beside us, Dorothy's legacy will forever shine through her children and grandchildren who carry her light forward every single day.
