Obituary

Edward J. Pienczak, age 87, WW II U.S. Navy Veteran, beloved husband of the late Virginia D. nee Pozniakowski. Loving father of Christine Collins and Steven E. (Terry) Pinzak. Fond Grandfather of Jason Pinzak and Zachary Dixon. Dear son of the late Joseph F. and the late Antonina Pienczak nee Filip. Dear brother of Loretta (Robert) Baloun and the late Mary (late Walter) Nowak. Uncle of many nieces and Nephews. Cousin and Friend to many. Recently of Bolingbrook, IL Ed spent all but the last year of his life in his family home in the back of the Yards Neighborhood. After the war, he was a retail grocer, later a building contractor with his father, until he was asked to serve as Chief of Staff for the late Hon. John C. Kluczynski. He served Klu and his successor for nearly 12 years, also serving as a staff consultant for the Hon. Dan Rostenkowski until Ed retired from the world of politics. Active in St. John of God Parish and many veterans' and civic/social clubs, he was a member of the Holy Name Society, Amvets, VFW, Moose, Elk, Club Hyzne, PNA and many more. He was a proud American who never lost his Polish roots. His personal philosophy was that "you should leave the world a better place than when you came in." He wasn't perfect, but every day of his life was spent leaving the legacy he espoused.""
