Beloved mother of three, former beauty queen, and passionate lover of coconut and caramel, Elvia Alvarez passed away after a courageous battle through life. As to her, being ashamed meant backing down from the system that oppressed her life. She taught others that eating popcorn could brighten up a day and could keep spirits going despite any hardship.

It was widely known and accepted that life was not kind to her. Elvia lived inspired by her difficult past, determined to find happiness regardless of her condition. Her ability to find joy is a true testament to her spirit as those close to her can still hear her say "no te me rajes."

Elvia was a woman who laughed until she couldn't. That simple effort brings hope to many around her that she will forever live on.

Elvia wished to live. Those around her can ensure she does.

Visitation  Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Wolniak Funeral Home, 5700 S. Pulaski Rd..
