Obituary

Enriqueta Cabral, age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday March 8, 2021 at her home in Chicago surrounded by her loving family. Enriqueta was born in Cueva Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico on April 17, 1930, the youngest daughter of the late Patrocinio and Elena (nee Bracamontes) Alamillo.
Enriqueta grew up in Mexico before moving to Chicago, IL where she proudly became a citizen of the United States. A long time employee of Cuneo Press, Enriqueta was always a very hard worker who instilled a strong work ethic in her kids. She was a stern, compassionate, and humorous mother who made sure her kids understood the value of hard work and the importance of a loving family. An unwitting matriarch to extended family and friends that spanned several states, she lovingly spent time sharing words of wisdom with anyone who reached out. Upon retirement, she discovered new ways to feed her curiosity for life and strong sense of adventure by traveling to various countries and joining various community groups to learn new skills. She thrived in the gardening club, baking circle, senior clubs, and various other groups where she quickly won the hearts of many.  It was not uncommon to find her knitting club gathered into the wee hours at her home surrounded by food and boisterous laughter.
Wife of late Antonio Cabral; loving mother of Saul (Raquel), Maria (Javier) Gonzalez, Sylvia Bustos, Elena (Jim Niedzwiedz) Cabral and the late Carlos Cabral; beloved grandmother of Saul "Chacho", Carlos, Lisa, Israel, Jenny, Linda, Stephanie and Nicholas; cherished great grandmother of sixteen; great-great grandmother of one; esteemed aunt of many nieces and nephews; and valued friend to many.

With the exception of bottled water, food and drinks are not allowed in the funeral home at the current time.
