Our precious mother, Evelyn Hurley, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021, at the age of 86, having battled Alzheimer's' bravely for more than eight years. It would be wrong to say that Mom lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. When anyone else would have broken, Mom stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Mom. Just because she is no longer here, it does not mean she lost her fight. She fought the good fight.
She led a simple life. What she valued most in people was honesty and them being down to earth. She devoted her life to her children while working full time and many extra jobs. Like a typical Irish mother, she made sacrifices for everybody. As long as Mom could still lift a hand, she would lift it in kindness to someone else. Her home was never empty, and she never met a person she would not eventually call family. There is not a person that she knew who is not a better person for knowing her.
She was an avid children sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching sports, especially if it involved one of her children or grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last days especially Bozenna (Gift from God), our family's caregiver.
No one's eye's shined so bright with love as my mom, who is now high above.
