Joel Gaona-Rivas, 29, of West Point, Indiana passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 15, 2023. Loving Son of Jamie Rivas-Hanzo and Maria Gaona. Dear Brother of the late Jamie Rivas Jr. Cherished Grandson of the late Pedro C. (the late Lillian) Gaona and the late Jose Laurentino Rivas (the late Maria de Jesus Anzo). Fond Nephew, Cousin, and Friend of many. Joel was a graduate of Oaklawn Community High School in Oaklawn, IL., he worked at Frito Lay in Frankfort, Indiana for the past 2 years, previously worked as a Promoter for Chicago Trolly for 5 years. He enjoyed listening to hip-hop music, playing, and watching basketball, singing karaoke, and hanging out with his cousins. A Memorial gathering of Family and Friends will be held Monday, April 24, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Wolniak Funeral Home 5700 S. Pulaski Rd. Chicago, IL. 60629.
