March 31, 1994 – January 29, 2025
Jorge Alejandro Torres, or Alex as many lovingly called him, 30, a resident of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on January 29 th . He was born on March 31, 1994, to Richard Alejandro Torres, and Marilu Quintanilla Mojica in Berwyn, Illinois. He graduated from Amos Alonzo Stagg High School in Palos. Afterward, he completed coursework at Moraine Valley Community College, then decided to enlist in the Army. He served as a Tanker-19K Armor Crewman, where he earned a National Defense Service Medal, a War on Terrorism Service Medal, and an Army Service Ribbon. He was honorably discharged in 2017 with the rank of E4 Specialist. Soon after his discharge, he met his future wife, Yuridiana Aguilar of Morelos, Mexico. Alex and Yuridiana were married in 2018 and added two children, Camila Alejandra, and Jorge Alejandro Jr. to their existing family, including: Saul Chavelas, Mia Chavelas and Sharon Chavelas.

Alex earned his welding certificate and was a 5 th year Union Outdoor Electrician Apprentice, Local 9, University Park, is an avid music fan, favorite cousin, beloved brother, cherished grandson, adored godson, spoiled nephew, loved son, devoted husband, and father. Family was everything to Alex and he spent much time caring for, celebrating, and having adventures with his family. He was fiercely competitive and game playing whether board, electronic, or outdoor sports, was always energizing, wild, and laughter-filled when Alex was involved.

Alex's family and friends remember his huge smile, raucous laughter, gift for storytelling, quick wit, loud shower concerts, love for animals, feats of strength, and knack for advice giving with warmth and deep love. Alex was brilliant, loyal, determined, and faithful. He practiced active love, kindness, generosity and could charm the scales off a snake. Alex could be depended on and was someone to look up to.

Alex is preceded in death by his grandfather, Juan Quintanilla Ruiz. Alex is survived by wife,
Yuridiana; his children Camila Alejandra Torres, Jorge Alejandro Torres Jr; his stepchildren, Mia Chavelas, Saul Chavelas and Sharon Chavelas; his grandparents Maria Mojica Gomez, Jorge and Pauline Torres; his parents, Richard Alejandro Torres and Marilu Quintanilla Mojica; siblings Paul Adalberto Torres, Diego Isaac Aguayo, and Ivan Xavier Aguayo; Uncle and Aunts, Juan Jose Quintanilla Mojica, Judith Quintanilla Mojica, and Georgianna Torres Reyes, and many adoring cousins and extended family.

Visitation on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 4:00-8:00 PM.

Chapel Prayers Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 9:30 AM.

Mass will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church on February 4, 2025, at 10:30 AM.

Interment at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery, Elwood, IL. at 1:30 p.m.
