Leon (Leo) Gabriel Lopez was taken from us too soon and unexpectedly. He was born on May 21st, 1985, and passed away on August 6th, 2024.

He leaves behind his mom Rosalba Baca, sisters Xochitl A. Lopez, Jasmine Lopez, and Martika R. Lopez, brother Jose I. Lopez III, sister-in-law Quintella Q. Lopez, nieces Niaisha D. Lopez, Desiree N. Lopez, Samarya V. Lopez and Roselle N. Lopez, nephews Devontae L. Lopez and Antonio B. Johnson, and a great niece Valentina Z. Greenleaf. He was preceded in death by his father Jose I. Lopez Jr.

He was a loving son, brother, tío, nephew, grandson, cousin, and friend. He accomplished a lot in his 39 yrs. He worked hard, played in bands, traveled, put himself through college and got his bachelor's degree in fine arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

He was an incredibly talented artist, musician, cook and was a diligent worker. Leon loved life and used his silly sense of humor to brighten the lives of his family and friends. He was a kindhearted soul, a big teddy bear of a man who never turned his back on anyone needing
help. Leon will be missed by his loved ones but never forgotten.
