Nick A. Stiso, WWII U.S Army Veteran.

Beloved husband of Ann Marie for 56 years. Loving father to Nicholas (Ruth) Stiso, Joeine Stiso, Michael (Margie) Stiso, Maria (Doug) Cullum, Maureen (Sean) Nugent, and Steven (Jennifer) Stiso. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Adele, the beloved mother of Nicholas and Joeine. Proud Grandpa “Poppie” to Nick and Sean Stiso; Joseph, James and Sophia Stiso; Payton, Andrew, Ethan, Spencer and Ryan Cullum; Daniel, Avery and Liam Nugent; and Dominic Stiso. Special uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Nick lived a life defined by love. Love for Jesus and the Blessed Mother, for family and friends, and the simple, joyful moments that made life meaningful. He often said he was “rich in love,” and anyone who knew him understood just how true that was.

Family was everything to Nick. He was a devoted husband and the kind of father every child hopes for - steady, caring, and endlessly supportive. As a grandfather, he found pure joy in his grandchildren, adoring each one and making them feel special in their own way. His home was filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting smells of his famous pancakes, waffles, and popcorn. These small acts became traditions that will have lasting memories.

Nick had a rare gift: he made everyone feel like they were his favorite. Generous with his time, his kindness, and even the smallest of gestures, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He could strike up a conversation anywhere and walk away with a new friend. People were naturally drawn to him because he truly saw them, listened to them, and connected in a way that felt genuine and lasting.

His generosity began early. As a young soldier towards the end of World War II, he shared chewing gum and chocolates with children in Germany. This simple act reflected the compassion he carried throughout his life. That same spirit stayed with him, as he continued to give to others in big and small ways, always looking for opportunities to brighten someone’s day. He also gave generously to many charities, quietly supporting causes that helped others and extending his belief in kindness far beyond his immediate circle.

Nick dedicated 43 years of hard work to People’s Gas, building not just a career but a reputation for reliability and integrity. Yet even with his professional accomplishments, it was his relationships and faith that defined him most. He lovingly served as an Ambassador of Mary and the Custodian of the Pilgrim Virgin Statue for many years. Nick was also a proud and long standing member of the American Legion Clearing Post 600.

To know Nick was to love him. He embraced life fully and lived it with an open heart, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, connection, and deep, unwavering love. His presence made the world feel warmer, and his memory will continue to do the same for all who were fortunate enough to know him.
