Tom Stupnicki, 64, of Chicago Illinois, passed away suddenly on February 10th, 2022.
Thomas was a lifelong traveler who loved being outdoors, especially the western United States and South America. At De La Salle Institute, he developed a love of playing baseball, which he continued as a softball player for decades in leagues across the city. He attended Richard J. Daley College and worked in retail management for much of his life. He was a movie buff, loved dark comedy, and played music any chance he could. Cooking was a passion. He cherished his dogs Bart and Monty. Tom was a diehard Blackhawks and Cubs fan; one of the highlights of his life was the Cubs playoff games and World Series win in 2016. His laugh was loud and he did things big. He was one-of-a-kind.
Tom was very close to his mother, the late Katarzyna Stupnicki (nee Mostowy). His hardworking father, Boleslaw Stupnicki, died at an early age. He and his sister Mary (nee Stupnicki) shared much of their lives together, and Tom was very close to her husband, his late brother-in-law John S. Sieczka. Tom is survived by his adoring nieces and nephews, Sean (Kevin) Pakieser, Keith Sieczka, John W. Sieczka, Nicole Sieczka (Ronnie Malley), and Allison Sieczka. Tom was a supportive part of their and his great niece and nephews' lives, including his proud namesake, Luke Thomas. Tom was also cherished by many lifelong friends and neighbors.
Private interment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to a charity that Tom raised money for in life that was close to his heart, the National Alzheimer's Foundation, at act.alz.org.
