Toribio Prado, de 69 años, de Chicago, Illinois, murió el 30 de enero de 2025 en el Loyola University Medical Center de complicaciones por cáncer.

Nació en Cincuenta Arrobas, México en 1955, hijo de Carmen Prado e Isabel Medrano.

Se mudó a Chicago en 1975, donde conoció a su amada esposa, Imelda Vera. Se casaron en 1976 y formaron una familia poco después. Criaron a sus cinco hijos en Pilsen, donde su edificio en Blue Island sigue siendo el centro de muchos recuerdos familiares entrañables. En 2004, se mudaron al suroeste de Chicago.

Toribio se jubiló de Tyson Foods en 2018. Durante su jubilación, disfrutaba de pasar tiempo con sus cinco nietos, organizar barbacoas familiares y dar paseos diarios con Imelda y su fiel perro Sopas.

Quienes mejor conocieron a Toribio dicen que era generoso, leal y, en su juventud, siempre el alma de la fiesta.

Le sobreviven su esposa Imelda Prado; cinco hijos, Ramiro (Sarah) Prado, Martin (Flor) Prado, Simon Prado, Esmeralda Prado y Rene (Elver) Prado; y cinco nietos, Ruby, Brendon, Rene Angel, Emily y Adam Prado.

Toribio Prado, 69, of Chicago, Illinois, died on January 30, 2025 at Loyola University Medical Center of complications from cancer.

He was born in Cincuenta Arrobas, Mexico in 1955 to Carmen Prado and Isabel Medrano.

He moved to Chicago in 1975 where he met his beloved wife, Imelda Vera. They were married in 1976 and started a family shortly after. They raised their five children in Pilsen, where their building on Blue Island is still the center of many fond family memories. In 2004, they moved to Chicago's Southwest Side.

Toribio retired from Tyson Foods in 2018. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his five grandchildren, hosting family cookouts, and taking daily walks with Imelda and their faithful dog Sopas.

Those who knew Toribio best say he was generous, loyal, and in his younger days, always the life of the party.

He is survived by his wife Imelda Prado; five children, Ramiro (Sarah) Prado, Martin (Flor) Prado, Simon Prado, Esmeralda Prado, and Rene (Elver) Prado; and five grandchildren, Ruby, Brendon, Angel, Emily, and Adam Prado.

Visitation: Wednesday February 5, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Funeral: Thursday February 6, 2025 chapel prayers 9:00 a.m. Wolniak Funeral Home to St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church 3721 W. 62nd Street Chicago for Mass 10:00 a.m.

Interment:  Private
